Since the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Professor Mosa Moshabela led the University of KwaZulu-Natal’s (KZN) COVID-19 response. A chance trip to Singapore in February 2020 gave him early insight into the impact that COVID-19 could have on a city and its people and allowed him to return to South Africa with key learnings and prepared to support a local and national response. He’s since been at the forefront of research and training aimed at educating the public on COVID-19, and has supported both the National and KZN Provincial Departments of Health in this regard.
