Sundowns show Al Ahly who's boss

Loading player...
Mamelodi Sundowns made another statement that they no longer have anything to fear when it comes to taking on the best in Africa, as they beat Al Ahly 1-0 on aggregate in the African Football League (AFL) semifinals this week.
Rulani Mokwena's side now have a chance to avenge last season's Caf Champions League semifinal loss to Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca when the two sides meet in the two-legged final, for a chance to win a whopping US$4 million as well as the first ever AFL trophy.
In this week's Ballz to the Wall Podcast, Phakaaathi editor Jonty Mark, along with Phakaaathi football writers Sibongiseni Gumbi and Tshepo Ntsoelengoe, takes a look back at Sundowns' success against Ahly, and wonder what this means for the side and head coach Rulani Mokwena, in terms of growing their status on the continent, one place where silverware has been in short supply for Masandawana.
We also look back at Orlando Pirates' DStv Premiership loss to Cape Town Spurs on Wednesday, and ask just where it is going wrong in the league this season for Jose Riveiro's side.
And we run the rule over Chiefs' latest punishment from the Premier Soccer League and ask the question: What on earth is a neutral venue when it comes to Chiefs?
