Radio Interview Brief: Margaret van Rooyen Shares Her Faith Journey

Margaret van Rooyen recently appeared on "Just Gospel" with host Carlett to share her testimony of God's provision throughout her life. A lifelong churchgoer from Delta Community Church in the Duncanville Vereeniging area, Margaret shared how her faith has sustained her through various life challenges.
Margaret recounted two significant instances of divine provision in her education. First, after being unable to pay for college and getting "kicked out" in 2010, a congregation member who didn't even know her name felt led to sponsor her education. She enrolled in 2012 and finished in the top five of her drafting class. Years later, God provided again when she pursued theological studies following a lifelong desire to minister.
The interview touched on Margaret's grief journey after losing her mother two years ago. She emphasized the importance of both spiritual support and professional counseling in processing loss, noting that "time heals all things" is insufficient without actively working through grief.
Margaret also shared how she met her husband in a restaurant after praying for an "old school" meeting rather than online dating. They recently celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary.
Professionally, Margaret runs Makarios Civil Lines (the Greek word meaning "happy and blessed"), providing architectural drafting services for municipal building submissions. She also works as a part-time photographer, saying she "doesn't sell photos, but memories." Margaret serves as a bassist at Delta Community Church and is taking professional singing lessons with aspirations of becoming a gospel singer.
Throughout the interview, Margaret emphasized how she integrates her ministry calling into her marketplace presence, creating opportunities to share her faith with clients and business contacts. Her parting message focused on the importance of maintaining "a true relationship with the Holy Spirit" and remembering that "God will never leave you or forsake you."
