The next group of South Africans to be vaccinated will be people of 60 years and above. Their vaccination drive was initially scheduled to start start next month in May and this phase is planned to overlap with the current phase where doctors are getting vaccinated.

After the older people, the next phase will be vaccinating those with comorbidities and if all goes according to plan, from November, the rest of the country will get their turn to be vaccinated.

Mpho Mashita and DH Complexion had a conversation with Mia Milan, the Editor in Chief at Bhekisisa Centre for Health Journalism to get an understanding of SA entering into phase 2 of the vaccination and what we can expect.
