Is it safe to take a Comair flight?

It has been a bad few week for the air transport industry.21 March, the world watched in horror as China Eastern flight MU5735 plummeted out of the sky with none of the 132 people on board having been found alive.
This right after a five-day air travel suspension, from 12 to 16 March, of South African airline Comair and a subsequent landing gear incident, 19 March, which delayed a Comair owned British Airways flight from Gqeberha to Cape Town.
Naturally, these events have left some questioning the safety of air travel and particularly the safety of Comair’s British Airways.
