Investment Conference Wrap - but there's still an investment strike, says prof. Meyer.

Last week we held our fourth South Africa Investment Conference as part of a drive to raise R1.2 trillion in new investment over five years. Despite persistent challenges in the economy, investors are buying into Ramaphosa’s vision, as evidenced by the pledges made this week.

Professor Danie Meyer, a development economist at the University of Johannesburg’s business school, described the conference as a success and a good showcase for South Africa. He said all the important people had met with President Cyril Ramaphosa and it was clear that business leaders supported his idea of getting economic growth going through new investments.
