A bright young student is back on course to finish her Microbiology PHD at the University of Pretoria, and its all thanks to generous Hot 1027 listeners.

Semakaleng Munyai was awarded a 3 year bursary to obtain her doctorate , and she was making excellent progress.

But then the pandemic happened , shutting down the lab, along with her bursary plans .
