Eskom to get R254bn in debt relief

Finance minister Enoch Godongwana has announced that embattled state-owned entity Eskom will receive R254bn in debt relief. Tax incentives to encourage investment in renewable energy were also announced when Godongwana delivered the 2023 budget speech in the National Assembly in Cape Town on Wednesday.
