Arriving in the UK 27 years ago with his chartered accountant's certificate and a bellyful of ambition, he has built an asset management business that now managed over R35bn on behalf of clients, many from the homeland. In this fascinating interview with Roy and Credo's Cambridge University educated chief investment officer Deon Gouws (ex Sanlam and RMB) we learn a great deal about why South Africans punch above their weight in London - and why so many have carved out hugely successful careers in their new base.
