In this incredible discussion about his legendary Natal/Sharks career, The Rolls Royce of Fullbacks, Andre Joubert opens up on his wonderful time at King’s Park and how he helped the Durban union go from perennial underachievers to lifting the Currie Cup and becoming South Africa’s team of the 90s. Andre recalls starting out as a youngster moving from Orange Free State and competing with Hugh Reece-Edwards for a place in the side. After establishing himself, Joubert helped Natal win the 1995 Currie Cup title. In 1996 the game turned professional, Natal became the Sharks and the great results continued under expert coach Ian McIntosh. Andre shares what made Mac so special, as well as an hilarious prank he attempted to play on the late coach.
