The Gateway Society, established in 1972 and nestled in Ruimsig, Johannesburg, is a comprehensive non-profit organisation dedicated to the holistic care and development of intellectually and physically challenged adults.
Operating primarily on fees received and a modest subsidy from The Department of Social Development, The Gateway Society tirelessly endeavours to secure additional funding through ongoing fundraising initiatives. Their aim is to maintain the facility at a standard befitting their beneficiaries.
The Gateway Society has joined forces with ‘Our Westrand Market’ and markets are held on the first Sunday of each month at the village. These markets provide an opportunity for residents to showcase their talents and sell beautifully handcrafted items to generate funds.
This is how Hot Cares and Silverstar are extending a helping hand.
