On the one hand we’re constantly hearing about the talent and skills shortage in South Africa; on the other, a number of high performers and top-executives are being retrenched or exiting the very careers where they have been developed and fast-tracked, due to corporate action beyond their control – shareholder issues, restructuring, new leadership, mergers and acquisitions.
