Gerald Mack McKenzie, a composer and bassist who changed Cape Town’s Goema music tradition forever.
Grew up in the city’s carnival culture and he helped form The Genuines, combining styles like rock, punk, classical and jazz with the music of his childhood.
With musical guest and friend Leslie Javan, pay homage to this son of the soil and forever preserve the memories of his contributions to this indigenous South African sonic.
