In the years between 1985 and 1999, there existed a wildly popular Australian magazine tv programme called "Beyond 2000", somewhat akin to "The Gadget Show" of more recent years. It focused on global tech advancements, and painted a rosy picture of the future coloured with flying cars, zero dependency on fossil fuels and and a pollution-free environment...some of the technological prophecies we saw on that show have come true in our times, but some still struggle to find a strong foothold in the new millenium. Maybe none more so than electric vehicles, with range anxiety and affordability being some of the main sticking points.
