Intro: When the first murder was committed by Cain, he sought to deny his culpability by implying that he was not responsible for his brother’s well-being: “Am I my brother’s keeper?” (Genesis 4:9). The judgment that fell on his shoulders made it clear that we are indeed our brother’s keeper. It is in light of this that we have this conversation about our responsibility in the face of injustice and inequality in society.
