#FirstThingsFirst - Food poisoning crisis in South Africa

"One month, 12 kids", reads the headline on today's front page of the Sowetan newspaper. This is in regards to kids that have perished due to suspected food poisoning from snacks bought from spaza shops. During a visit at one of the communities affected by these incidents, Economic Development and Finance MEC Lebogang Maile proposed that the President declare a state of emergency as this is a national crisis. The team deliberated over these tragic incidents and the kind of interventions that be implemented to get stop this once and for all.
