The EFF in Gauteng, led by provincial chairperson Nkululeko Dunga and provincial secretary Moshe Koma, took to the streets in a protest march to Joburg Water. They demanded an end to corruption and the persistent water shortages affecting residents and businesses. The demonstration, which took place on a rainy day, coincided with the birthday of EFF leader Julius Malema. Addressing the marchers, Dunga remarked on the symbolism of the downpour, calling it a “revolutionary sign” and reinforcing the party’s urgent call for water access. He emphasised that the march was not just about water shortages but also about broader issues of mismanagement and neglect by the authorities. Phemelo speaks to EFF Gauteng Spokesperson, Dumisani Baleni.
