There are calls for the removal of Ekurhuleni Mayor Doctor Xhakaza from the city's highest office, following a proposal for a motion of no confidence. It’s understood that two minority organisations- the Independent Citizen Movement (ICM) and the African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) are demanding Xhakaza's resignation. They have accused the mayor of mishandling the city's finances, neglecting council orders, and failing to properly fulfill his duties. Phemelo speak to The City of Ekurhuleni's former chief operating officer, Dr Joe Mojapelo, a member of the ICM who is pushing for the removal of African National Congress (ANC)'s Xhakaza.
