Residents living near the Vaal Dam in Parys are anxious about more rainfall, amid heightened water levels. Authorities have now opened 5 sluice gates to relieve the pressure, increasing flow on the Vaal River. There are now concerns of flooding from communities living along the banks, who are worried that this could lead to serious disruptions to their lives.
