--:--
Today, we’re stepping behind the lens with Charnel Jade Alexander popularly known as “MALUME JADE “of the most exciting visual storytellers coming out of South Africa right now.
She has captured the spirit of culture, music, fashion, and art—especially within the entertainment industry. Her work includes stunning visuals of recognizable faces such as Uncle Waffles, TXC, Davido, and Gunna, and she’s collaborated with major brands such as Heineken House and Netflix.
In 2023, she took things to the next level as an Assistant Director to Ian Gabriel on Death of a Whistleblower, now streaming on Amazon Prime.
Known for her eye for fashion, Jade’s signature close-up shots—nails, accessories, outfit details—bring every frame to life with style and story. Whether she’s documenting global stars or underground movements, representation and detail are always front and centre.
She’s also just earned her Master’s degree in Screenwriting for Television, with academic work focused on representation in South African cinema—which continues to shape her creative voice today.
