Interview Jevron Epstein, CEO of Generation Schools and Chairman of the Real Madrid Foundation South Africa

--:--
The world-renowned Real Madrid Foundation is proud to announce the launch of its first Johannesburg-based Educational Football Programme site, opening at Generation Schools Taroko in May. This marks the third South African site since the Foundation’s entry into the country earlier this year, and its first footprint outside of the Western Cape.

This exciting milestone will be celebrated with a special event attended by Andrés Muntaner Borrajo, Director of the Real Madrid Foundation, who will be in Johannesburg on 28 May 2025, to mark the occasion alongside the Spanish Ambassador to South Africa, José Garcia, leadership of Generation Schools, partners, and community stakeholders.

Since its launch in South Africa, the Real Madrid Foundation has provided a life-changing platform for aspiring footballers, balancing renowned Real Madrid methodology sport training with a strong academic foundation through its partnership with Generation Schools.

To date, more than 90 children are enrolled across the Imhoff and Sunningdale campuses in Cape Town, with Johannesburg set to grow this impact even further. Already, seven full education bursaries, including six with fully covered accommodation, have been awarded by Generation Schools to exceptional young athletes from under-resourced communities. In addition, six 50% academic bursaries have been granted, reinforcing a long-term commitment to accessible, quality education and development through sport.

The launch at Generation Schools Taroko represents not only a new chapter for the Real Madrid Foundation in Gauteng, but also a deeper investment in South Africa’s future leaders, on and off the pitch.

I chat to Jevron about the school and the program.
