In Conversation With Hendrick Makaneta ,Education activist.

Education activist Hendrick Makaneta has called on Higher Education Minister Nobuhle Nkabane to exercise public power in an open and transparent manner for the benefit of every citizen in the country.
We are surprised by the Minister of Higher Education's refusal to disclose the names of the panel members appointed to advise on matters of public interest. This refusal not only undermines the spirit of our democracy but also erodes public trust in a system meant to serve the people, especially students, lecturers and communities who rely on open and fair governance in education.
The Promotion of Administrative Justice Act (PAJA) dictates that administrative action must be lawful, reasonable, and procedurally fair. When decisions are made behind closed doors without disclosing who is making or influencing them, we are right to question their fairness and integrity. The identities of those taking decisions on behalf of the public are not a private matter. They directly shape policy, spending, and outcomes that affect millions.
