Calgary is getting its own inland port, the Prairie Economic Gateway. Construction is set to start in 2027, and it's touted to be a transformational project that will create more than 30,000 jobs and $7 billion in economic output over the next decade. Regina has a similar inland port with its Global Transportation Hub, but it's been at the centre of headlines and not for good reasons.
