Joining us in studio today is Sifundo Dladla, a talented actor, musician, and entrepreneur whose journey from a small village in KwaZulu-Natal to the screens of Mzansi is nothing short of inspiring.
Sifundo, 29, grew up in KwaHluphiwe, raised by his grandmother, MaNkabinde. Life in his village was simple—without electricity or a TV—but it was during visits to his mother in Johannesburg that he first discovered his passion for television and performance. While most people around him dreamed of becoming doctors, teachers, or police officers, Sifundo dared to imagine a different path, despite the skepticism he faced.
In 2008, he started his creative journey as a DJ under the stage name S-DEEZ, making beats and learning the ropes with the help of his cousin. By 2015, he had transitioned into acting, landing his first role in the Mzansi Magic movie Mkhulu. From there, his career took off, with notable appearances in Fatherless, Now or Never on SABC1, Gold Diggers (eTV), Pastor Bae, and Rhythm City. His lead roles in Toro and Mme Matswale further cemented his place in the industry.
Sifundo gained widespread recognition in 2020 for his role as “New Guy” in Gomora, and he has continued to make waves in films such as Lesiba, Iphela Lase Vosloo, Umsesane, Bengisho Delani, and Ugogo Wabantu. In 2023, he joined the hit series Smoke & Mirrors, currently shooting its second season.
Beyond acting, Sifundo is passionate about fashion and is the founder of Typical Zulu Clothing, blending his love for style with his entrepreneurial spirit. His story is one of perseverance, creativity, and breaking barriers—showing that dreams are possible no matter where you come from.
