Opposition objects to Drakenstein move to sell Paarl CBD property below market value

Concern is growing over the decision by Drakenstein Municipality to sell municipal property in the Paarl CBD for far less than its market value. While detailed development plans have not yet been presented, the municipality says the sale forms part of efforts by private developers to help revive the struggling central business district. Concerned Drakenstein Residents councillor Vernon Moses explains why his party objected to the motion to sell the property.
