
ActionSA calls for Ramokgopa’s removal over SUV claims

ActionSA is ramping up pressure on President Cyril Ramaphosa to fire Minister Maropene Ramokgopa, following explosive allegations that she received luxury vehicles worth R1.5 million. According to reports, the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Minister allegedly accepted three Chinese-made SUVs and then registered them under her son and close associates, in what the party claims was a deliberate attempt to dodge disclosure rules. The party says it will pursue criminal charges, as well as complaints to the Public Protector and Parliament’s ethics committee. Phemelo speaks to ActionSA MP Dereleen James.
