Culture Pulse with Radio Legend Tim Zunckel

In this episode of Creative Currency, host Kea Boya sits down with Tim Zunckel a seasoned media strategist, talent development specialist, and the founder of Tuned Media .

The conversation stems from a viral social media post where Tim questioned the lack of structured mentorship programmes for broadcasting professionals in Southern Africa. Highlighting a massive gap in the market, he clarifies that while internships and skills training exist, emerging talent desperately lacks the long-term, structured executive guidance needed to navigate career development, leadership growth, and industry networking.

In response to the overwhelming feedback from ambitious media professionals struggling to find guidance, Tim decided to bridge the gap himself by launching the Tuned Media Mentorship Programme. This free, 12-month initiative provides three emerging broadcast professionals with direct, one-on-one career planning, leadership development, and crucial industry introductions.

Drawing from his own decorated career spanning community, commercial, retail, and public broadcasting, Tim shares invaluable, practical wisdom on how intentional mentorship can transform the future of Southern African media.
