Why is chicken so expensive?

Chicken has long been seen as an affordable source of protein, but that may no longer feel true when you're looking at the price tag at the grocery store. As the cost of meat continues to rise, more Canadians are turning to chicken—but increased demand could also be putting pressure on prices. Mike von Massow, a food economics professor at the University of Guelph, joins Tamara to explain why chicken is so expensive right now and if consumers could see relief anytime soon.
