$40,000 for fighting the fire: Wadin Bay gets repaid

Last summer, when everyone was asked to evacuate, a handful of people stayed behind to protect the Wadin Bay community from devastating wildfires. Shaun Bergsveinson, FireSmart President for Wadin Bay, was one of those brave volunteers. While their hard work paid off, it wasn't easy, and it wasn't free. Now, the community received a $40,000 grant from the provincial government in recognition of its wildfire prevention and resiliency.
