Segment 1: Karla Sastaunik from CUPE Saskatchewan explains how
education assistants are increasingly being asked to perform medical
procedures such as tube feeding, wound care and catheterization, often
without consistent training or clear provincial standards. The focus is on
keeping both students with complex needs and the staff supporting them safe.
Segment 2: Karla looks at what needs to change, including better
training, clearer policies, stronger health-care support and consistent
standards across Saskatchewan schools. She also explains how staffing
shortages can force some children with complex medical needs to stay home,
creating serious challenges for families.
Segment 3: Mercedes Korngut - Cooking Easy & Budget Friendly. 18
year old Mercedes joins us to share practical strategies for making cooking
enjoyable without breaking the bank. She wrote a cookbook and every recipe
has a picture and an instructional video.
Segment 4: Luanne - Frugality & Reusing. Luanne discusses
