The African Christian Democratic Party in Ekurhuleni is calling for urgent action from SAPS following the discovery of the bodies of five women in Kempton Park and Olifantsfontein.
The party says authorities must intensify efforts to identify and apprehend those responsible, while also calling of the City of Ekurhuleni to improve safety by ensuring that streetlights remain operational and that overgrown grass and public spaces are properly maintained.
The ACDP that poorly lit street and overgrown areas can create hiding places for prepetrators and increase the risks faces by women walking in the area.
