This afternoon on The Unicorn shines a spotlight on an organisation making a real difference in the lives of young people and their families. Joining us is Vikki O’Connell from the Go-Spectrum Foundation, an organisation dedicated to supporting learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder and helping them reach their full potential. Vikki will be tells us more about the work they do, the challenges faced by families, and the positive difference Go-Spectrum is making in our community.
GO Spectrum is a community-based organisation dedicated to supporting learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), helping them overcome learning barriers and reach their full potential. The organisation provides tailored education within small, nurturing classroom environments designed around the individual needs, abilities and learning styles of each student.
GO Spectrum combines bespoke curricula, supportive resources and a stress-free learning environment with guidance and skills for parents and families. Its approach focuses not only on academic development, but also on social growth, independence and preparing learners to become functional and confident members of society.
Through early intervention, condition management and appropriate classroom accommodations, GO Spectrum also works towards successfully reintegrating learners into mainstream schools where appropriate. The organisation promotes inclusion by helping schools, educators and families better understand and support neurodiverse learners.
