DA, Action SA smell ANC blood? IEC tally hits 60%

As they say, “a week is a long time in politics”. Well, election week is like running a marathon. Not only for the parties and the journalists who cover it, but of course, for the Electoral Commission processing the results as they slowly emerge. We cross to the IEC’s national results operation centre in Midrand to hear from the commission, ANC, DA and ActionSA. And then end off in the Western Cape, where the DA’s already claimed an early victory. As the national elections picture slowly starts to emerge, what’s evident thus far is that the ANC, according to the current projections, appears to be losing ground in parts of Gauteng, the Free State, Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal, primarily thanks to the DA, ActionSA, and MK Party enjoying more voter support. But these remain informed predictions for now until the IEC finally declares. Still, the DA’s already confident enough to pop the champagne in Cape Town, while eyeing early leads in Johannesburg, Nelson Mandela Bay, Ekurhuleni and Tshwane. Expect fresh shows twice a week. This show has been carefully produced, presented and edited by Raubenheimer, News24 visual director Wynand Louw, and video journalists Luke Daniel, Storm Simpson and Chelsea Ogilvie. This show is then quality-checked by an editor and/or a senior member of News24. #News24Video #News24 For this story and more, visit News24: https://www.news24.com/multimedia/video #News24Video #News24 For this story and more, visit News24: https://www.news24.com/multimedia/video
