Eating Disorders In Young Girls.
--:--
Sibongile Mofokeng is back and in conversation with Dr. Inga Mgaleli about Eating Disorders In Young Girls. Eating disorders affect several million people at any given time, most often women between the ages of 12 and 35. In young people, the mortality rate of anorexia is 4-11%. The risk of death in young people with anorexia is 12 times higher than that for the general population of the same age. Eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia are significant concerns among South African youth, with societal pressures and body image issues playing a role.
