The Free State allrounder, Miané Smit, is one step closer to making her senior Proteas debut after being named in the women’s squad for their upcoming tour to Sri Lanka.
Smit, as well as Seshnie Naidu and Karabo Meso, have been named in the squad for the One-Day International Tri-Series in Colombo, which will also feature Sri Lanka and India.
The Free State women’s Player of the Year, Smit was a traveling reserve for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in the UAE last year.
Head coach, Mandla Mashimbyi, told OFM Sport that these young players bring a lot of energy.
