The thorn represents a source of ongoing difficulty or weakness—whether physical, spiritual, or emotional—that Paul pleaded with God to remove three times. God’s response was, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." The teaching emphasizes that though thorns can cause pain and challenge, they serve to keep believers dependent on God’s strength and grace, turning weaknesses into opportunities for spiritual growth and humility. The thorn reminds us that God's power is revealed most fully in our weaknesses.
