Lukho Mkwedi Phuthi welcomes Mr. Michael Mathe from SASSA to the studio for a crucial discussion on the "Registration Campaign for Children Under 2 Years." They emphasize birth registration's urgency—unlocking Child Support Grants (R560 monthly per child), healthcare access, identity protection, and future opportunities like schooling and social aid. Mr. Mathe outlines the streamlined process: ID, child's birth certificate (or affidavit), proof of residence at the nearest SASSA office, with same-day processing for 2026 grants starting early January. This campaign safeguards vulnerable infants, ensuring families receive timely support amid economic pressures.
