Good Things with Brent Lindeque: Warren Myers on Building AURA!

Loading player...
A South African idea born in Johannesburg is changing the way people get help in an emergency.

Warren Myers is the Founder and CEO of AURA, a technology company launched in 2017 after he recognised a frustrating problem: we could get a taxi or even a pizza faster than we could get emergency assistance.

AURA uses technology to connect people in trouble with the closest vetted security or medical responders, and today that network has expanded from South Africa into Kenya, the UK and the United States.

The company says its network has helped save 8,900 lives, with an average response time of around 7 minutes, and Warren's bigger vision is to eventually create a global emergency-response network where technology can get the right help to you, wherever you are.

I sat down with Warren for this week's Good Things with Brent Lindeque to talk about the journey from a South African problem to a homegrown solution now making an impact around the world.

Here's how to experience AURA for yourself, with a test call: https://shorturl.at/NdQcI
