Teachers union Sadtu says it will hold pickets countrywide calling for a review of the current post provisioning norms, which determine the number of teachers each school has.

The first of the picket protests will be held in Gauteng tomorrow and later in other provinces.

Sadtu spokesperson, Nomusa Cembi, says education remains a basic human right. She says all children, black and white, rich and poor are entitled to access this fundamental right in conducive environments.

Cembi says the current post provisioning norms are creating problems.
