Researcher receives doctorate for work on Karoo lamb

OFM News’ agri editor Sabrina Dean speaks to Sarah Erasmus, who has just received a doctorate for her research into proving the origin of Karoo lamb. She says there are significant differences in the flavour of Karoo lamb due to the shrubs they eat, with these differences also extending to specific regions of the Karoo. She says this research ties in with traceability issues and is also important in Karoo Lamb being granted protected geographic indication status:
