State Security dept to investigate "intelligence report"

The Department of State Security will investigate the intelligence report which President Jacob Zuma used to justify his decision to fire Pravin Gordhan as finance minister.

This is according to Democratic Alliance Shadow Finance Minister, David Maynier, who wrote to the Inspector General of Intelligence, Sethlomamaru Dintwe.

The DA asked him to investigate whether or not the report was produced by anyone within the national intelligence structure.

Maynier says the DA welcomes the investigation.
