Free State Cogta MEC Sisi Ntombela is the new Free State Premier. Spokesperson for the interim committee,Thabo Meeko confirmed this at the provincial Budget Speech in Gariep. This comes after ANC Secretary General Ace Magashule announced the 15 member interim committee in January that was tasked with leading the province to the provincial elective conference. In a statement the ANC lauded the appointment of Sisi Ntombela and Premier-Elect of Mpumalanga Refiloe Mtshweni saying this demonstrates “the ANC is a true non-sexist organisation”. Meeko says Ntombela was the committee’s preferred candidate throughout the process.
